What is the correct and recommended way to walk in the street, and how did the Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, walk? And did he walk quickly?

Ibn al-Qayyim explained that the Prophet (peace be upon him) walked with a slight lean forward, and was the fastest of people in his walk, and the most graceful and calm. It was as if the earth folded for him, indicating that his walk was the walk of those with firm resolve, high spirits, and courage. It was the most balanced of walks, the most comfortable for the limbs, and furthest from the walk of rashness, humiliation, or feigned weakness.

Similarly, a Muslim should walk with tranquility and dignity, without arrogance or feigned weakness, in compliance with the words of Allah Almighty: "And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily," and should lower his gaze from open houses, in adherence to the words of Allah Almighty: "Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them."
