Must the family be informed that the liquid is damaged by the smell of chlorine to avoid buying it?

If the smell causes illness, it must be avoided by staying away from the place. If that is not possible, then the family must be informed of it, in order to preserve one's self and the sanctity of what leads to its destruction, for Allah Almighty says: ﴿And do not kill yourselves. Indeed, Allah is ever, to you, Merciful.﴾ [An-Nisa: 29]. The family can replace the substance with something that removes the harm.
