Is it permissible for a father to convert the property in which his male children reside into apartments for them without giving the daughters their due, or must the property be appraised and the daughters' shares bought from it, with the possibility of them relinquishing their shares willingly?

If the questioner wishes to bequeath the real estate to his male children, excluding his female children, this is not permissible, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, Allah Almighty has given every rightful person his due right, so there is no bequest to an heir." Thus, a bequest to an heir is not permissible. However, if he wishes to grant an immediate gift to his male children, excluding his female children, this is also not permissible according to the preponderant opinion of scholars, due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Fear Allah and be just among your children," and his saying: "Equalize among your children in giving, for if I were to prefer anyone, I would have preferred women." However, if he grants his daughters something else from his possessions in return for what he granted to his sons, there is no objection to that.
