The Muslim Ummah must be a leader in theoretical and practical sciences, and fulfill its needs in various specializations. It is advised that each individual specialize in what they are inclined towards and excel in, taking into account the differences between genders in specializations suitable for each. Adherence to Islamic guidelines in seeking knowledge is obligatory, such as avoiding intermingling (ikhtilat) and traveling to disbelieving lands if the specialization is available in Muslim lands, while being keen to choose righteous students for seeking knowledge abroad when necessary. The Ummah is in need of all beneficial sciences, along with adherence to Sharia and acquiring a sufficient amount of Islamic knowledge.
