What is the ruling on one who hunts while in a state of major ritual impurity (janabah)?

There is no objection to a person in a state of janabah (major ritual impurity) slaughtering an animal or hunting. His slaughtered animal is lawful by scholarly consensus because janabah does not prevent the pronouncement of "Bismillah" (naming God). Ibn al-Mundhir reported the consensus on the lawfulness of an animal slaughtered by someone in a state of janabah, and that a menstruating woman is like someone in a state of janabah in this regard. Ibn Qudamah stated that a person in a state of janabah is allowed to pronounce "Bismillah" and is not prevented from it, and that janabah is not greater than disbelief, yet a disbeliever can pronounce "Bismillah" and slaughter.
