It is not obligatory to pick up pieces of bread or other food items fallen on the ground; rather, it is recommendable. Disrespecting bread is reprehensible (makrooh tanzihi) but not forbidden. As for peels and seeds that are not eaten, there is no harm in discarding them in the trash. It is advisable to ignore obsessive thoughts ().
