The summary of what the exegetes said concerning the name of the one who brought the throne to Sulayman (peace be upon him) is that his name was Asif ibn Barkhiya. He was a righteous and close friend of Sulayman. It was also said that he was Sulayman himself. As for the means he used, it was supplicating Allah Almighty by His Greatest Name.
