If the young man is religious and of good character, then there is no harm in accepting him as a husband. The considered compatibility in marriage is religious compatibility, and he should not be rejected because he is disabled. Society's mockery of this marriage may be imagined, and if it is real, it should not be paid attention to. If your father is convinced, then praise be to Allah. If he insists on refusing, then listen to him and obey him.

However, if you fear that harm will befall you by rejecting this young man, then there is no blame upon you if you marry him, even if your father is not pleased. Obedience to parents is obligatory in what is good and right, and it is not considered good and right to obey them in matters that cause harm to the child. The guardian is a condition for the validity of the marriage, and if a woman fears that her guardian will prevent her from marrying, she should refer her case to the Sharia (definition) judge or Islamic centers.
