What is the ruling on divulging a secret that was told without mentioning the name of its owner, if it does not harm him?

Disclosing a secret is blameworthy and forbidden if it harms its owner. Some scholars have gone so far as to prohibit its disclosure absolutely. As for reporting an event without identifying its owner, this is not considered disclosing a secret as long as the identity of the secret's owner is unknown. Similarly, mentioning someone unknown to the listener in a negative way is not considered backbiting.
