The answer

Dating between young men and women online or otherwise, with the intention of marriage, is forbidden and a means to corruption.

What occurred between you two is impermissible, and repentance is obligatory by cutting off the relationship immediately. The difficulty in getting married might be due to your disobedience to Allah's command.

Regarding the father's oath by divorce:

- If the prohibition is for legitimate, recognized Sharia reasons, then he must obey his father to preserve the family.

- If the girl is of good character and religious, and his father's prohibition is out of stubbornness, then obedience to the father is not obligatory.

However, it is commendable for a man to forgo marriage to preserve his family from dispersion.

You must not rush him into marriage as long as it will disperse his family, for a marriage that causes family dispersion may not be blessed.

The age difference does not affect marriage.
