How can the problem of constant quarreling between a father and an uncle, who live in the same house, be resolved, taking into consideration that the uncle sometimes initiates the aggression, that both of them are bachelors, and that the father is diligent in his prayers and fasting while the uncle is inconsistent in his prayers although he is committed to fasting?

The uncle should be advised to preserve prayer, for it is the most important pillar after the two testimonies, and abandoning it is disbelief, rendering fasting invalid and no deed acceptable. Everyone should be advised to show piety, righteousness, and maintain kinship ties, observing the rights of relatives, while reminding them of the verses and hadiths that mention this. If the uncle responds, then praise be to Allah. Otherwise, the obligation is to shun him.
