Is wearing jewelry symbolizing the "Hand of Fatima" (Hamsa) forbidden (haram)? And what is its story?

The fundamental and general rule is that there is no harm for a Muslim woman to wear any ornaments and jewelry she wishes, including "Hand of Fatimah" jewelry, unless it becomes clear that its symbolism carries a forbidden meaning. The mere name or symbolism does not prohibit what is originally permissible. A woman must not display her adornments to anyone other than her husband and maharim (unmarriageable kin), in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "And let them not expose their adornment except to their husbands or their fathers or their husbands' fathers, or their sons or their husbands' sons, or their brothers or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or what their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no sexual desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah all of you, O believers, that you may succeed."
