Will Allah accept the repentance of a young man who was dating a girl and there was physical contact between them, knowing that he does not feel remorse for his past actions, but rather wishes for her return, yet he fears Allah? And is it permissible for him to continue talking to her on the phone to check on her and share her concerns without flirtation?
Relationships between young men and women, under the guise of love and marriage, are a gateway to evil and corruption, far removed from the guidance of Islam, which legislated marriage as the sole permissible path for relationships between men and women. It is obligatory to initiate repentance by immediately severing the relationship, abandoning the sin, regretting it, resolving not to return to it, and avoiding the causes of disobedience. If you desire marriage and are able to afford it, then proceed; otherwise, desist. A heart that inclines towards sin and takes pleasure in it contradicts the sincerity of repentance and regret. Regret is achieved by magnifying the enormity of the transgression, out of reverence for God's right, and believing in the recompense.
