Is it permissible to take back a wife who has been divorced by a single, revocable pronouncement – while she is five months pregnant – by sending her a message to inform her of her return before she gives birth, especially since none of her family members have contacted us to resolve the issue?

If a husband writes to his wife, "I take you back," intending to reconcile with her, she returns to him as long as that is before the expiry of her iddah with the delivery of the child. It is not a condition for the ijhad (witnessing) of the return, and it is valid by writing with the ability to pronounce it verbally. However, it is more cautious to pronounce the return verbally and to have it witnessed.
