Is it permissible to take back one's wife after a single revocable divorce, during her iddah (waiting period), without her consent or the consent of her family, and is it valid to send her the pronouncement of رجعة (revocation) via email?
A disobedient wife is one who leaves her husband's home without his permission for no valid reason. The husband is permitted to forsake her in bed. If the husband divorces his wife with a revocable divorce, he has the right to take her back as long as she is within her waiting period ('), and her consent or knowledge is not required for this. It is valid to take her back in writing. The problems that may occur between the spouses do not nullify the husband's right to reconciliation. Rather, both spouses must exhibit wisdom and patience to avoid the destruction of the family, because Satan strives to sow discord between them. One can seek assistance from people of goodwill for reconciliation.
