Can a husband take his wife back after divorcing her with a single pronouncement, for the sake of calming things down, without her consent?

If this is the first or second repudiation, the husband has the right to take back his wife as long as she is within her waiting period (iddah (definition)), and the wife's consent or knowledge is not a condition for the return. It is advised not to rush in seeking divorce due to the resulting destruction of the family, and that divorce should only occur after all means of reconciliation have been exhausted. Furthermore, the reunion of the spouses and living together amicably is preferable to separation, especially with the presence of children, keeping in mind that the basis of the marital relationship is affection, mercy, and understanding.
