What is the ruling on contacting someone who claims to cure sorcery with the Qur’an and spiritual means, and who asks for the names of the patients and their mothers, and can this person harm those who contacted him after knowing their names?

It was previously mentioned that among the signs of sorcerers is their asking those who come to them about their mothers. Whoever comes to a diviner and asks him about something, his prayer will not be accepted for forty nights. The sorcerer cannot act except with Allah's permission. The pains you feel in your body do not necessarily mean they are caused by sorcery; they may be due to psychological or organic issues. We recommend consulting doctors first. If the predominant suspicion is the presence of sorcery, then you should perform ruqya (Islamic exorcism). There is no harm in having someone who appears righteous perform ruqya for you. You should also make abundant supplications, be diligent in reciting adhkar (remembrances of Allah), adhere to acts of obedience, and avoid sins.
