Does Ibn Taymiyyah consider pure only the hair of the dog, or its entire body? And what is the ruling regarding water into which a dog's paw has fallen, especially since there is a hairless spot on the dog's paws?

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah preferred the view of the Hanafis regarding the purity of dog hair. The Hanafis consider the entire dog pure, not just its hair, meaning its physical entity is pure, and its impurity lies in its flesh and blood. It is stated in Hashiyat Ibn Abidin that the dog is not impure in its essence (ain), but rather its impurity is in its flesh and blood, and this view is the correct one and closer to what is right. In Durar al-Hukkam, it is mentioned: "The dog is impure in its essence according to them [the two disciples], contrary to Abu Hanifa."
