Is avoiding sitting with family and isolating oneself from them considered disobedience to parents, even while responding to their requests, given their hurtful words and differential treatment?

Parents should not favor some children over others in their treatment, and they must teach their children gentleness and good manners. It is not permissible for children to respond to the harshness of parents with harshness, cruelty, or avoidance. If the absence of children from their parents' gatherings angers them, then it is not permissible; but if it does not anger them, there is no harm, provided they bid farewell and respond if asked. The Lord's pleasure is in the parent's pleasure, and His displeasure is in their displeasure. The parent is the middle gate of Paradise, and Paradise lies beneath the feet of mothers.
