What is the Shar'i ruling on a suitor visiting his fiancée and going out with her for a stroll, and does this fall under "a word of kindness" (قولا معروفا) mentioned in the Quran?

The verse: "But do not promise them secretly, unless you speak a recognized saying" pertains to a woman observing her iddah (waiting period) after the death of her husband. In this context, Allah has permitted alluding to marriage but forbidden explicit proposals or secret agreements for marriage. Allusion (tarid) means for a man to say words from which his desire to marry is understood, without direct declaration, such as: "I wish I had found a righteous woman." This ruling applies to a woman who has been irrevocably divorced (al-mutallaqah al-ba'in), but not to a woman who has been revocably divorced (al-mutallaqah ar-rajiyyah).
