The biographers mentioned that the first men to embrace Islam were Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, among women Khadijah, among the freed slaves Zayd ibn Harithah, and among boys Ali ibn Abi Talib. Abu Bakr invited people to Islam, and through him, prominent companions like Uthman, Al-Zubayr, Talhah, Saad, and Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf embraced Islam. Mujahid mentioned that the first seven to openly declare Islam were: the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, Abu Bakr, Bilal, Khabbab, Suhayb, Ammar, and Sumayyah, the mother of Ammar, and Sumayyah was the first martyr in Islam.
