What are the virtues and miracles of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq and Ali ibn Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with them both?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The virtues of Abu Bakr and Ali are numerous. Abu Bakr was the first man to embrace Islam, and Ali was the first boy to embrace Islam. Both witnessed Badr and the Pledge of Ridwan, and the Prophet, peace be upon him, bore witness that they would enter Paradise. Abu Bakr was distinguished by being the most knowledgeable of the Companions, the closest to the Prophet, peace be upon him, and the most beloved to him. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said about him: "Indeed, the most generous of people to me in his wealth and companionship is Abu Bakr. If I were to take a close friend (khalīl), I would have taken Abu Bakr as a close friend, but it is the brotherhood of Islam." As for Ali, the Prophet, peace be upon him, said about him on the day of Khaybar: "I shall certainly give this banner to a man through whom Allah will grant victory. He loves Allah and His Messenger, and Allah and His Messenger love him." The Ummah has unanimously agreed upon their imamate, giving precedence to Abu Bakr, then Umar.
