What is the ruling on giving my friend a SIM card for the internet, knowing that she uses it to communicate with young men and women for "joking and entertainment," and I fear sin or losing her friendship?
The conversation between boys and girls and their friendship is a gateway to tribulation and corruption. Therefore, it is not permissible to establish a friendship with a girl, nor to give her personal information that could assist her in impermissible matters, as Allah Almighty says: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression" (Al-Ma'idah: 2). Remember that the Muslim's ultimate goal is the pleasure of Allah and His worship, and that striving to please people by incurring Allah's displeasure leads to failure. You must rely solely on Allah, for He is sufficient for you. As long as you are with Him, you will not be lost, for Allah Almighty says: "And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah – then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a [decreed] extent" (At-Talaq: 2-3).
