How did the Prophet (peace be upon him) come to possess a sword engraved with images, despite his knowledge of their prohibition?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, had several swords. The authentic Sunnah confirms only one of them, "Dhul-Fiqar," which he acquired as war booty on the day of Badr. It was named so due to the presence of small, beautiful indentations on it. The vision the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saw on the day of Uhud indicates what happened to his sword, "Dhul-Fiqar," in that battle. The authentic Sunnah does not confirm the existence of a sword named "Al-Battar" or any other. What is circulated as pictures of the Prophet's sword, peace and blessings be upon him, with images on it, is fabricated, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did not possess such a sword. He was the one who forbade images and commanded their effacement. The hilt of his sword, "Dhul-Fiqar," was made of silver. Nothing remains of the Prophet's relics with certainty, as many of his relics were lost due to wars and tribulations.
