Is it permissible for an unmarried person to view fatwas and questions related to pleasure and enjoyment?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Speaking about matters of intercourse and marriage may arouse lust and lead to the forbidden, especially for the unmarried, and its harms outweigh its benefits. The scholars have mentioned that delving into such matters indicates a lack of modesty and contradicts high aspiration. Therefore, some of the Salaf used to forbid mentioning bellies and private parts in their gatherings, especially descriptions of the relationship between spouses. Accordingly, it is not permissible to read fatwas that describe intercourse and marriage if they could arouse lust, except out of necessity.
