Is one who eats or drinks with his left hand, while capable of eating and drinking with his right hand, committing a sin?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade eating and drinking with the left hand because Satan eats and drinks with it. Most scholars consider this detestable (makrooh) except in the case of a legitimate excuse, while some deem it forbidden (haram) because actions attributed to Satan are unlawful.
