If bleeding occurs after the insertion of a contraceptive device (IUD) and the period since the last menstruation is less than fifteen days, then it is dysfunctional bleeding (dam fasad) which does not prevent prayer and similar acts. You should perform ablution for each prayer after its time has begun. However, if the period exceeds fifteen days, then it is most likely menstrual blood (dam hayd), as these methods may hasten menstruation or prolong its duration.
