Is it permissible for me to pray and fast while bleeding continues for more than eight days after inserting an IUD?

If the excess bleeding has the characteristics of menstrual blood and does not exceed 15 days, then it is considered menses. However, if it exceeds 15 days, then the woman is considered to have irregular bleeding (istihada). She should count her usual days of menstruation, then perform ghusl (ritual bath), pray, and fast. But if the excess bleeding differs from menstrual blood in color and odor and is due to an IUD, then it is considered irregular bleeding (istihada).
