What is the ruling on fermenting alcohol in a faculty of pharmacy, and what should a Muslim student do about it?

Consuming, carrying, selling, and purchasing alcohol are prohibited, and ten types of people associated with it have been cursed. It is impermissible to manufacture alcohol for consumption or for medicinal purposes, as it is a disease, not a cure. Anyone who participates in its production for consumption or medication has committed a forbidden act. However, if the purpose of its manufacture is to understand the scientific properties of alcohol, provided that the manufactured product is destroyed and neither consumed nor used in medicine, then it is permissible for a Muslim student to participate. This is on the condition that the student does not taste it, leaving that to non-Muslims. If the student is to participate in the manufacturing process, it must be stipulated that the alcohol be destroyed and neither consumed nor used in medicine; otherwise, the student should refrain from participation.
