Is the Hajj valid despite ignorance of the obligation of the Talbiyah therein?

The Talbiyah is recommended by many scholars, and according to them, nothing is incumbent upon those who omit it, even though they miss out on much good. However, some scholars hold the view that it is obligatory, and omitting it necessitates a sacrifice (dam).
