How can one respond to those who believe that raising children is solely the mother's responsibility, and that the father's role is limited to providing for and earning a livelihood?

It is obligatory for the father to raise his children and to spend on them, based on the words of Allah Almighty: (O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire), and the words of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "There is no servant whom Allah entrusts with a flock, and he dies on the day he dies having betrayed his flock, except that Allah forbids Paradise for him," and his words: "All of you are guardians and are responsible for your subjects. The Imam is a guardian and is responsible for his subjects; a man is a guardian over his family and is responsible for his subjects..." Furthermore, raising children is a shared duty between both parents, based on the words of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "And a woman is a guardian in her husband's house and is responsible for her subjects."
