How should a wife deal with her husband who objects to her male siblings visiting, and is jealous of her communicating with her sisters, despite her attempts to mend the relationship, and is it permissible for her brother to temporarily reside with her in the marital home for remote work?
A husband has the right over his wife that she not allow anyone he dislikes into his home, whether or not that person is a mahram, as stated in Sahih Muslim: "You have a right over them that they not allow anyone you dislike onto your beds." It is not permissible for her to allow anyone into the marital home unless she knows or presumes that the husband does not dislike that person.
If there is nothing suspicious, the husband should not prevent his wife's brother from visiting her; otherwise, it may lead to discord and the severing of kinship ties. Jealousy not based on suspicion is blameworthy, as stated in the Hadith: "There is some jealousy that Allah loves, and as for what Allah loves, it is jealousy in cases of suspicion. As for what He dislikes, it is jealousy not based on suspicion."
If the husband permits the wife's brother to enter, there is no harm in acting upon this permission. His annoyance does not necessitate withdrawing his permission, as his permission is certain, and what results from his annoyance is doubtful. Therefore, what is certain takes precedence.
