Is there any basis in the Sunnah for a worshipper to move the index finger of his right hand upon hearing a verse of glorification (tanzih) or monotheism (tawhid) during a loud prayer?

The finger between the middle finger and the thumb is called the forefinger ( as-sabbabah ) and the glorifying finger ( al-musabbihah ) because it is used to point to the Oneness of God ( Tawhid ) and for glorification ( Tasbih ). There is evidence for pointing with it during the tashahhud, and scholars have mentioned the wisdom behind this. It is desirable to point with it during supplication ( du'a' ) or glorification, but not during recitation in prayer, as this was not transmitted from the predecessors ( salaf ).
