Who built al-Aqsa Mosque? And what is the story of the alleged Temple?
Source: FtawySummary from Ftawy's records · added here Sep 2, 2026
The first to build the Sacred Mosque (Al-Masjid al-) and Al-Aqsa Mosque was Abraham, peace be upon him. The proof for this is the determination of the period in which Al-Aqsa Mosque was built, as it falls within the lifetime of Abraham, peace be upon him. The mention of Al-Aqsa Mosque was always coupled with the mention of the Sacred Mosque. The alleged story of the temple is a fabrication.
