Does a divorce that occurs twice consecutively on the same day with a short time interval count, knowing that intercourse took place between them, followed by purity and prayer, before the second divorce?
Your "yes" answer to your husband's question, "Did you hear the divorce (pronouncement)?" is not counted as a second divorce if the husband intended to confirm the first divorce. Innovated divorce (such as combining multiple pronouncements in one sitting, or divorcing during menstruation or a period of purity in which the husband had intercourse with his wife) is forbidden by scholarly consensus. The majority of scholars hold that it takes effect, while some do not consider it to take effect. The husband must seek forgiveness and repent for initiating an innovated divorce. We advise referring the matter to the court for a ruling, as a judge's ruling settles disputes.
