Is it obligatory for me to pronounce the Shahada in the mosque to leave the Ismaili Agha Khani sect and follow true Islam, and does the Hadith "Islam demolishes what came before it" apply to me?

This fatwa clarifies that Ismailism is not Islam, and that entry into Islam occurs by uttering the two testimonies (Shahadatayn) and disavowing the Ismaili doctrine. It is then recommended to perform ghusl (ritual bath). It is also advised to go to the mosque for prayer, to get to know Muslims, and to seek knowledge. Furthermore, it is stressed that one must move away from the Ismaili environment due to fear of their treachery, and seek a Muslim environment that helps in adapting to the rituals of Islam. It is mentioned that Islam wipes away previous sins, and that good deeds performed before Islam are counted, provided that one acts righteously after embracing Islam.
