Was the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) the best of all prophets and messengers, or in some aspects but not others?
Our Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, is the best of the prophets and the master of all mankind. He was favored over other prophets with several distinctions, among them being the master of the children of Adam on the Day of Resurrection, the first to emerge from the earth, the bearer of the Banner of Praise, the first intercessor and whose intercession will be accepted, he was granted comprehensive speech, he was aided by terror [cast into the hearts of his enemies], war spoils were made lawful for him, the earth was made a purifier and a mosque for him, he was sent to all creation, the line of prophets was sealed with him, and he is the one granted the Grand Intercession, the Pond, and the Wasilah (a high station in Paradise), and he is the Imam (leader) and orator of the prophets. These virtues are countless, and his superiority does not negate the establishment of specific virtues for other prophets. He is the best of them and their Imam on the Day of Resurrection.
