Is our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) the best of creation?

There is no explicit text stating that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, is the best of creation. Rather, the text states that he is the best of humankind and the master of the children of Adam. From this, scholars have understood that he is the best of creation. Scholars have consistently described him as such, and many texts indicate his great status and position with Allah, and that he is the greatest of creation in honor, being the master of the children of Adam, the first intercessor, and the first whose intercession is accepted, among other virtues and characteristics. Nevertheless, he does not rise above the degree of humanity, so it is not permissible to supplicate to him or seek his help besides Allah. Some scholars believe that one should be cautious about using the description "best of creation" and restrict oneself to what is mentioned in the text.
