Does the removal of rancor from the people of Paradise mean that it was in their hearts in this world, despite the condition of a sound heart for entering Paradise?

The Almighty's saying: "And We will remove whatever is in their breasts of resentment" indicates that believers in this world may harbor some resentment towards each other, which Allah will remove from them when they enter Paradise. This removal occurs after believers are rescued from Hellfire and are detained on a bridge between Paradise and Hell, where some will exact justice from others for injustices committed in this world. Once they are purified and cleansed, they will be permitted to enter. This removal may be by purifying hearts from envy over the ranks in Paradise or by eliminating the malice and animosity that existed between them in this world.
