What is the ruling on running water through the hair of the eyebrows, eyelashes, and light mustache, and how is it done? Is rubbing sufficient? Should past prayers be redone by one who omitted this due to ignorance? Is it obligatory to wash the eyes during ghusl? Is it permissible to perform ghusl without ensuring water reaches every part? Is it obligatory to run water through long head hair to its very end, or is it sufficient to run it through only from the scalp?

The hair of the eyebrows, eyelashes, and mustache must be washed during ghusl (ritual bath) and wudu (ablution) because they are part of the face. If these hairs are thick and cover the skin, it is sufficient to wash their outer surface without necessarily getting water to their roots, according to the majority of scholars. However, if they are thin and the skin is visible, water will naturally reach the skin when washing and rubbing the face. It is neither obligatory nor recommended to wash the inside of the eyes; in fact, it may be harmful. When washing the hair, it is sufficient to moisten its roots and pour water over the rest of the hair.
