Is writing the name of the husband/wife on the wedding band, without any belief that it brings closeness or ill omen, considered polytheism (shirk) and apostasy from Allah?

The basic ruling on wearing a wedding ring (dublah) is permissibility, and it is not forbidden or considered shirk (polytheism) merely by inscribing the name of one of the spouses on it. However, there are caveats associated with wearing it:

1. A man wearing it if it is made of gold, because gold is forbidden for men. 2. It is not a custom of Muslims but rather adopted from non-believers. 3. The belief that inscribing a name on it will make each spouse more beloved to the other.

Refraining from wearing it is more preferable.
