Do the texts of the Qur’an necessitate belief in the ascension of the Messiah with his body to heaven, and does deeming them to be necessitating such belief constitute an act of disbelief (takfir) against one who believes otherwise?

It is obligatory to believe that Allah the Almighty raised Isa (Jesus), peace be upon him, to heaven with both his soul and body, and that he is alive and will descend at the end of time, as indicated by the Qur'anic verses and authentic hadiths. Whoever denies his ascension, if he is a Muslim, the truth should be clarified to him and the proof established against him. If he persists, he is considered an apostate for disbelieving the Qur'an and the Sunnah.
