What is meant by the Bidʻah of Al-Tanʻeem (the beautification or adornment of mosques), why was it innovated, and who was the Sultan who abolished the Bidʻah of illuminating mosques on the first Friday night of the month of Rajab and on the night of the middle of the month of Shaʻban?

The innovation (bid'ah) of "al-Tan'eem" has not been mentioned by scholars, and if it exists, its source is required. Scholars have unanimously agreed on the innovation of venerating the month of Rajab and observing the first Friday night therein, as detailed by Ibn Taymiyyah, Al-Nawawi, Ibn Rajab, Ibn Al-Qayyim, and Ibn Hajar. They also clarified that the night of mid-Sha'ban is not distinguished by any special virtue. As for those rulers who abolished the innovation of "al-Tanweer" (illumination) on that night, no record of them has been found, and one can search for them in history books specialized in the achievements of sultans.
