Does the hadith "Do not harm her, may Allah fight you" apply exclusively to righteous men who are devout and treat their wives kindly, or does it include all men? And how close is a man to separating from his wife to them? Is there a deterrent for one who harms his wife verbally or physically?

The hadith (definition) narrated by Mu'adh ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) states: "No woman harms her husband in this world but his wife among the Houris (maidens of Paradise) says: 'Do not harm him, may Allah curse you! For he is only a guest with you, and he will soon depart from you to us.'" This hadith was graded hasan (definition) (good) by At-Tirmidhi and sahih (definition) (authentic) by Al-Albani. His saying, "he will soon depart from you," means that he will soon depart from you by death. As for the specification of the husband in the hadith, it is not restricted to righteous men; rather, what is understood from it is that he must be one of the people of Paradise. As for warning against harming one's wife, there are texts that encourage good treatment of wives and warn against mistreating them, including the words of Allah Almighty: "And live with them in kindness," and the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "The best of you are those who are best to their wives, and I am the best of you to my wives." And he condemned those about whom their wives complain.
