Is it permissible for a breastfeeding wife to delay the obligatory prayer until she has finished breastfeeding, fearing the child's crying if she leaves him?

There is no harm in delaying the prayer beyond its initial time due to breastfeeding a child. However, delaying it until its time expires is not permissible except for a legitimate Shar'i excuse. Breastfeeding or a child's crying is not a legitimate Shar'i excuse for delaying it, as breastfeeding does not take a long time. Therefore, the prayer must be performed at its legally prescribed time.
