What is the ruling on concealing some scars with makeup to pass a medical examination for employment?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is not permissible to hide defects with makeup or otherwise to pass a medical examination if it is a necessary condition, because this is considered prohibited deception, in accordance with the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) sayings: "Whoever cheats is not one of us" and "Deceit and treachery are in the Hellfire." The jurists have stated that dyeing with black is forbidden if it involves deception, and similarly, letting one's garment drag (isbal) is forbidden if it is intended to deceive women. All of this falls under deception.
