Is medication that causes hallucinations, neurological confusion, and delirium among its side effects considered an intoxicant, and what is its ruling?

The symptoms mentioned are usually not caused by medications unless they are mixed with narcotics. It is permissible to use medication if there is a necessity or an urgent need for it, such as when there is a fear of the patient's death or severe harm, based on the Almighty's saying: "But whoever is forced, neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit] - then there is no sin upon him. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." Otherwise, it is not permissible.
