Is the hermaphrodite mentioned in the Quran or Hadith, and how are the rulings of Islamic Sharia applied to them?

There is no mention of the hermaphrodite in the Qur’an or in the sound, elevated Sunnah, but rather in some narrations. The hermaphrodite is treated according to what becomes clear of their masculinity or femininity. If their status is not clear, then they are an ambiguous hermaphrodite (khuntha mushkil), and they are treated with the utmost caution, being considered a woman in the presence of men and a man in the presence of women.
