The wife has the right to spend the night in her own apartment, and she cannot be forced to spend the night with her husband's family, because Islamic law guarantees her an independent dwelling. Khalil al-Maliki said: "She has the right to refuse to live with his relatives." There is no harm in her spending the night in her family's home while the husband is traveling with his permission, and it is preferable that the husband grant her permission.
