What is the ruling on participating in the installation of wiretapping and call recording devices for the benefit of the security apparatus, knowing that refusal may lead to undesirable consequences? Is there a sin incurred by participation, and is it possible to take the job and then leave it later to avoid this situation?

It is permissible to work in a tracking device if it is for maintaining security, tracking criminals, and exposing their corruption. However, if it is for spying on people of faith and righteousness and monitoring their movements with the intent to harm them, then it is not permissible to work with it or to assist its operators, for Allah Almighty says: "And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression."
